We're extremely excited to be putting our this brilliant first single from the group, it's heavy percussive Brazilian rhythms topped with sublime group call and response is a beckoning to get on your feet, we hope you love it as much as we do.

Baque Luar are a collective of female and non-binary vocalists and percussionists hailing from diverse backgrounds, united by their love of Brazilian and Afro-Brazilian roots music. Meaning ’moonlit beat’, the group combine original multi vocal compositions and arrangements with powerful percussive grooves.

Composed by the group’s Tuca Milan, Brilha sings about a specific natural region in Brazil called Serra do Cipó, a place of clear skies, crystalline waters and rich biodiversity. It draws on two beautiful ancestral rhythms from the state of Minas Gerais, Congado and Candombe Mineiro. Brilha is also a hymn to Baque Luar, a song of courage to shine and flourish, as nature does!
